another lost camera

I too lost my Canon Elph S230 (with a 256 card on the inside) somewhere after Danny's talk on Fri night. (Got pretty trashed w/ Dan so I imagine someone now has 200+ drunken pictures of portions Kaminsky, unintelligible pictures of the ceiling, and other random crap)

Doubt it would ever show up, but on the off chance it does, I'd be glad to offer something for it back. (Yeah the camera is old, but I have enough accessories for it (which I didn't manage to loose) that I don't want to have to re-buy all over again to fit the new cameras.)

In terms of your wallet, I did check with the lost and found at the con, and they had no camera, but I did notice a wallet on the check-in list. You might want to contact them. (On the positive side, the number of turned in lost items was several pages long. Shows some people take the time and effort.)

In terms of your photos, you can try to see if anyone posts them. They might keep the camera, but post the photos (if the first action wasn't to reformat the card)

Found

Party at pool 2 sunday night, someone left cell and glasses in my bag, it was turned in to the hotel on monday when I found it.

My debit card was stolen, and in the 2 hour window before I actually managed to get it cancelled they managed to run up $350+ on it. According to my bank I get the money back friday though...

And on a quasi-related tangent, my cell phone broke horribly to where after removing the battery and putting it back in about 20 times I was able to get it to boot for about 5 seconds before it locked up and refused to boot again and instead went into a keypad flickering fit. I threw it into an unused grill at the Toxic BBQ, and made the title a little more literal...

Good news!

I found my wallet! Someone had stuffed it into my makeup bag where it had blended in with all the black stuff. I would have found it sooner but america west lost my luggage and I just this second got it back.

Now if only my camera would show up...

If there's anything you are missing, give the Alexis a call and ask for the Security desk. Anything that gets turned in will end up there. One of my goons left his vest in his room after he checked out, and we found it in the security office. They had several trashbags of items that had been recovered/turned in. I saw everything from BlackHat books, PC speakers, phones, cameras, and a dress in there.

I have volenteered to do this more than once... I'll go down there Friday and pick up everything that was left at DefCon and post limited discriptions here.. if it gets claimed then good.. if not we sell it on eBay and put the funds twords PoolCon... what do you say people?

Actually, not a bad idea. We had several items left at the H'pimps party; only one I will mention as they seem valuable. It's a pair of perscription glasses with distinctive frames. If you can describe them, please pm within 7 days. If not, they go to the Austin Cooalition for Sight.

I say go for it but be sure to put POOLCON in the description so that we can find it and bid accordingly.

Last year i left my old, but nice camera, an Oly C2100UZ, in my room and didn't notice for a month or more. I figured i'd left it in the Denny's before the roadtrip, but after thinking it over, remembered taking pics afterwards.

It turns out that i'd only used it once during the con, then ended up leaving it. Two+ months later, i called AP and sure enough, they had it. Staff were actually surprised that it was still around after so long. A package arrived a week or so later with my camera intact :).
